It's ELECTION TIME – but have YOU been conned?

When self – publicity is the name of the game. Could an election be close at hand.

Councillors and their candidates must be publicly judged on the merits of their entire workload ‘throughout the year’ and NOT just on the massive volume of superfluous pre-election, happy clappy, photographic crap they upload about themselves, their political candidates, adorable pets, nice flowers, etc, onto social media sites.

These politicians totally bombard forums with shed-loads of irrelevant images, which contain links right back to their political party chums.

They most certainly should NOT utilise trusting community groups to feather their nest and further their political objectives. This political ruse is happening right now in a town close to where you live. Your trusting unawareness of the situation just goes to show how successful their political subterfuge actually is!

As a local vocal whistleblower I (and others) have been stung by similar situations, thinking that some voluntary projects were for environmental and community benefit when in fact they turned out to be clandestinely based on self - promotional political engineering.

One can only speak from hard-won personal experience!

I have written many blogs and books about this dirty political situation before. Here are just a few examples...

Using whatever means are available, prior to the election, to gain political support is a trick as old as the hills.

Do YOU know of similar situations wherein politicians have highjacked social media platforms, etc, to promote their specific political aims?

Alternatively, are YOU one of the many gullible types that political parasites rely on to make it past the post at election time?

No matter what party - Do NOT let them con you!

Lest we forget - the destruction of Kitty's Wood in Ainsdale

Kitty's Wood was a natural area with legally protected wildlife. It was effectively the green lungs of the local community in George Drive, Ainsdale.

Following an intense eco-campaign, Kitty's Wood was outrageously destroyed by developers to make way for congested ‘affordable’ housing. Labour Party members in Bootle voted decisively en masse to level the place and an ecological disaster occurred, as the old historical woodland was felled.

Campaigners tried hard to save it, at significant personal expense, yet even though Sefton Council admitted in their 2017 report that the majority of trees would be lost the large, anti-woodland, Labour vote ultimately ensured that the wood was finally destroyed.

Many of our politicians have little understanding about the native UK countryside and the vital balance that keeps it alive. With an imperial wave of the pen these grey-suited officials flatten precious ecosystems that have existed for decades.

Above: the lovely bluebell - strewn Kitty's Wood before its final destruction.

Of course, when elections are close at hand, shrewd  politicians with limited understanding often play the 'I love the countryside' card to impress the gullible and gain more votes. The truth however remains firmly in the opposite!

So much UK woodland is being destroyed today, with wildlife species being eradicated everywhere. Moreover, house prices may well decrease with more developments and loss of our precious wild green spaces.

Stuff Party Politics – vote for the person who gets things done

When it comes to elections many folks seem stuck on the 'ever so' well – indoctrinated idea of voting for party only.

This very restricted mindset is held largely because they possess little or no idea about the person they are actually trying to vote in.

Some candidates are truly worth their salt and sincerely work very hard to get things done for residents in the local community. Lynne Thompson falls into this rare bracket. Unlike what numerous feeble
politicians have done before her, she has worked tirelessly over the years for Ainsdale and not vanished into insignificance after winning her corner.

Political parasites

Other more superficial candidates simply pop up like unwanted toadstools just before elections.

Thereafter, they simply play at party politics to gain power. These plastic parasitical pretenders like to claim credit for everything that the real grafters have done first.

They seek to strengthen their weak status via cheap - shot photo opportunities and pathetic two - line posts on social media. They are largely unknown entities, which is reflected in their often desperate push to get themselves into the public limelight, shortly before the forthcoming election arrives.

Such a lazy and deceitful approach is ancient and sadly natural in political circles. It is also an insult to the intelligence of voters who really should expect more from their up and coming political representatives.  It does nothing to help the local communities who at times have to rely on their politicians to get problems addressed.

I do speak from hard - won  personal experience, with much I have written down for posterity. Here are just two examples...

You can please yourself, but for me the person (who's working hard for the people) comes ‘before’ any political party, or the point - scoring parasitic entities that have attached themselves to it!

Immigration crisis in UK from 2017 to 2024 & our vanishing countryside

I wrote about the following crisis in 2017 and got plenty of stick for my troubles.

My blog was entitled…

Official: Extensive immigration is killing our countryside and chocking up our towns – and it’s going to get worse!

https://pat-regan.blogspot.com/2017/02/official-extensive-immigration-is.html

I stated in 2017…

‘Why is it that they shout so loud about needing more housing? Who actually needs it? Escalation of immigration means that Britain will need to accommodate as many as 243,000 new households each year for the next 22 years, according to the Department for Communities and Local Government. It has been projected that an extra 5.3 million new properties could be needed to meet the growth in population, and an extra 2.4 million of the new homes will be needed for migrants alone. Migration Watch (an independent and non-political UK think tank) has claimed that the current forecasts are lower than actual net migration numbers, meaning housing demand from migrants has actually been understated. It was also discovered that new immigration controls will have to be phased in after Brexit takes place, raising fears that it may take years for the number of new arrivals to fall.’

'Massive UK housing needs – basically to accommodate more immigrants. UK bleeding to death as the politicians look on. Shallow-minded politicians with NO concern for Britain’s countryside and its native population continue to shout “WE NEED MORE HOUSES.” and our lovely UK green spaces vanish faster each day.'

Today in 2024 it would seem that predictions regarding the badly – managed immigration catastrophe have indeed come true.

So, people really think this government runs of common sense, do they? Here are a few extracts from a recent national press release.

The number of foreign workers handed permission to come to Britain by the Home Office surged to a record high last year.

More than 616,000 visas were granted to overseas workers plus their dependants – soaring 46 per cent year-on-year, new figures show. Across all types of visas – excluding tourists and other visitors – the Home Office granted permission for 1.4 million people to come to Britain, marginally higher than in 2022 but nearly triple the 519,000 a decade earlier. Former home secretary Suella Braverman described it as a ‘national disaster’ and called for a cap on numbers.

Former home secretary Suella Braverman described the rising numbers as a ‘national disaster’ and called for a cap on numbers ‘This cannot go on: we don’t have enough homes, GPs or schools to support this level… Britain will be unrecognisable if this carries on. It’s not what the British people, including me, voted for.’ She added.

My sympathy, as a long – time eco-campaigner, has always been with our vanishing UK countryside, which cannot be expected to take the massive amounts of new houses needed to deal with the growing immigration crisis.
